Bondi's name has been floated as a potential member of Trump's cabinet since the election.
When asked for comment by the Tampa Bay Times, Bondi said "I'd never discuss anything confidential".
"Many people will be traveling to Florida this weekend, especially to the Tampa Bay area", Bondi said in a news release.
"That's a good trick question". "The victims of Trump University have waited years for today's result, and I am pleased that their patience - and persistence - will be rewarded by this $25 million settlement".
Although Bondi is widely considered to be quite close to the Trump team, her appointment would nearly certainly raise controversy due to her association with the scandals embroiling the Trump Foundation. He is committed to backing up the great men and women standing behind me, and we talk about that very frequently. As attorney general, Bondi falsely claimed same-sex marriage would "impose significant public harm", and suggested that same-sex couples don't create stable or enduring homes.
"I try to be grounded", she added.
But Bloomberg Politics reported that it wasn't certain which position Bondi would fill and the Trump administration hasn't confirmed Bondi's appointment. Bondi asked for the donation around the same time her office was being asked about a NY investigation of alleged fraud at Trump University.
January 5, 2017During the campaign, Bondi faced scrutiny for a $25,000 donation from Trump's foundation that arrived at the same time she was deciding whether to investigate fraud allegations of the now-defunct Trump University.
Trump later paid a $2,500 fine over the check from his foundation because it violated federal law barring charities from making political contributions.
Her office decided not to pursue a case after the donation was received.
