Man with rifle in East Oakland disarmed, detained

California Highway Patrol tweeted about 9:30 a.m. that an active shooter in the area closed eastbound I-580 at Golf Links Road.

According to CBS San Francisco, police received reports of a sniper in a neighborhood.

On Friday morning, police in Oakland, California, disarmed and arrested a man who was firing a rifle at police officers and residents of a Oakland neighborhood.

Following a brief standoff, the gunman was shot by Oakland police, KPIX-TV reported. Police rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area as the gunman was seen shooting out of a window of the second story of a home.

In the freaky footage he sprayed what looks like a pair of breasts on the garage of the house next door, before sprawling a penis on a neighbouring auto. He made his way to the backyard and fired shots at a fence and a helicopter flying overhead.

While police were searching for him, officers reported gunfire striking near them, but none were hit. He remains hospitalized in serious condition, Watson said. An investigation is ongoing.
