Ousmane Dembele rejected the chance to join Liverpool last summer

Liverpool return to Premier League action this weekend hoping to bounce back from Monday's 3-1 defeat at Leicester against rivals for a top four spot Arsenal.

Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp admits he's in regular contact with Mario Gotze.

Borussia Dortmund duo Ousmane Dembele and Christian Pulisic have both confirmed they rejected interest from Liverpool last summer.

Speaking to this month's issue of Four Four Two, Dembele has revealed that Liverpool wanted to sign him last summer - but whilst he met up with Reds boss Jurgen Klopp, he told him that he had chose to join Dortmund.

Klopp is an admirer of Pulisic, 18, who joined Dortmund's academy when the German was in charge, but the USA worldwide recently extended his contract until 2020.

Borussia Dortmund wonderkid Christian Pulisic has revealed he once trained with Tottenham before moving to the Bundesliga outfit.

The France global, who has scored six goals for Dortmund so far this season, also said Premier League champions Leicester failed in an attempt to sign him.

"But I told him I had made up my mind to sign for Dortmund".

"I have respect for Klopp and I know him - he was very welcoming to me here - but I was never really thinking about going to Liverpool", Pulisic said. "I made the decision a long time ago, so going to Leicester was out of the question", he added. 'I am always in touch with my former players.
