'Only time will tell' on improving US-China trade

It looks that President Trump has a pretty bad and militarily ill approach toward North Korea but China alone can not influence the U.S. possible action on North Korea.

North Korea marks several major anniversaries this month and often marks the occasions with major tests of military hardware.

Tensions are rising in the region as President Donald Trump seeks to prevent North Korea from acquiring the capability to strike targets in the continental US with a nuclear weapon.

Asked hours after the Syria strike whether it should be seen as sending a message more broadly with regard to North Korea, Secretary of State Rex Tillerson told reporters at Trump's Mar-a-Lago estate, "This clearly indicates the president is willing to take decisive action when called for".

On Friday, after Trump and Xi met, Liu Jieyi, China's permanent representative to the United Nations, said military actions will only worsen the suffering of the Syrian people and make the situation in Syria and the region more complicated and turbulent. He added however that Beijing had indicated a willingness to act on the issue. China and USA are differed in their policy responses on North Korea.

During the conversation, Trump briefed Abe on his just-concluded meeting with Xi. The strike group, which includes an aircraft carrier, will make its way from Singapore toward the peninsula, a U.S. official told Reuters on Saturday.

The North has carried out five nuclear tests - two of them previous year - and expert satellite imagery analysis suggests it could well be preparing for a sixth.

Satellite imagery analysis suggests it could be preparing for a sixth, with USA intelligence officials warning that Pyongyang could be less than two years away from its goal of striking the continental United States.

The National Security Council has presented President Trump with options in response to North Korea's nuclear program that include placing American nuclear weapons in South Korea, NBC News reported on Friday. The North quit the negotiations in 2009.

Maybe they didn't want to test their S-300 and S-400 air defence missile systems they say are world beaters.

Trump ordered the strike in Syrian in response to a deadly chemical weapons attack on Syrians.

On Wednesday, North Korea reportedly launched a ballistic missile from Sinpho, South Hamgyong province, in the direction of the Sea of Japan. But unlike Syria, experts warn that North Korea has a means of striking back if provoked.

Secretary of State Rex Tillerson recently said the US has "spoken enough" after the latest such test, and according to NBC, other options may include deploying nukes to South Korea or assassinating North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un.

"We feel the increased presence is necessary", the official was quoted as saying on the condition of anonymity.

"If it's a preventive strike or precision strike, there's a danger that this could expand into a broader regional conflict involving China or Japan".

Xi described four newly-established "high-level mechanisms for dialogue and cooperation between China and the United States", in diplomacy and security, economy, law enforcement and cyber security, as well as social and people-to-people exchanges.
