It looks that President Trump has a pretty bad and militarily ill approach toward North Korea but China alone can not influence the U.S. possible action on North Korea.

"If it's a preventive strike or precision strike, there's a danger that this could expand into a broader regional conflict involving China or Japan".
Xi described four newly-established "high-level mechanisms for dialogue and cooperation between China and the United States", in diplomacy and security, economy, law enforcement and cyber security, as well as social and people-to-people exchanges.
