The trailer for the upcoming Insurrection event was supposed to be released tomorrow but briefly appeared on the french version of Sony's official PlayStation YouTube channel. You can check out some of the skins featured in the OverwatchInsurrection update below. You can earn them by leveling up or buy them directly, as always, and they include new skins, emotes, and highlight intros you expect. The events are usually quite popular with the Overwatch community, and add a bit of excitement for players that have been falling by the wayside while playing other titles.
If the cooperative mode in Insurrection sounds familiar, it is because Blizzard has previously released such a mode in last year's Halloween event named Junkenstein's Revenge.
Uprising will run until 1 May and players need to work as a team of four traveling seven years into the past as Tracer, Torbjörn, Reinhardt, and Mercy.
"We've heard the call that a lot of players want a non-real-world-tied event, meaning they want some sort of set event in the Overwatch world", Overwatch game director Kaplan told PCGamesN. As experts in storytelling, Blizzard has even managed to bring to life the backstory of its first person team shooter, Overwatch.
One particular stand out spray can also be seen of Widowmaker before she turned evil. And two additional videos, a new "Origin Story" trailer and another "Developer Update" with Director Jeff Kaplan, can also be found after the break.
When the event does finally go live it's worth remembering that there will likely be issues with joining games.
While the idea is still the same at its core - players have to fight off waves of enemies - the action doesn't just take place in one static location.
