Universal Studios Orlando announced today that in November 2017 there will be a massive Christmas experience taking over Harry's corner of the park. They also note that among the many spectacles you can anticipate, the Hogwarts Castle will be decked out in Christmas lights, and special effect projection mapping. There will be holiday decorations everywhere, from Hogsmeade to Diagon Alley.
The parade will include new balloons and floats highlighting popular Dreamworks characters from Minions, Shrek and Madagascar.
Officials from Universal Orlando announced that more details about Christmas in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter and the new holiday parade will be available in the coming months.
Universal Orlando's entertainment director Michael Aiello teased the new show in a promotional video released by the resort this morning. The celebration will run from November 18, 2017, through January 6, 2018.
These new experiences will join other beloved holiday traditions at Universal Orlando Resort for its destination-wide 2017 Holidays celebration. Similarly, the stores at the Potter-themed park will alter their inventories with unique holiday food, and a new slate of entertainment will descend upon the park, presumably so cheery in nature that it would warm the heart of even the grubbliest of planks. The new holiday parade featuring Macy's is only the icing on the cake as guests will be able to celebrate the Christmas season for much longer as well. Visitors to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter - Diagon Alley will discover that this portion of Universal Studios Florida is now festooned with festive garland.
Vacation packages start at $165 per adult per day, and include a four-night hotel stay at Universal's Cabana Bay Resort, a 4 day/3-park ticket that includes admission not only to Universal's two main parks, but also to their newest water theme park, Volcano Bay.
