Samsung confirmed last week that the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 edge duo set a new record for first-year sales at the company, and both phones are still being sold in many markets around the world.
"By packing such large displays into phones that are reasonably comfortable to hold and use, Samsung has given itself a valuable way to stand out relative to Apple and high-end Android rivals such as Alphabet/Google". Likely, this is possible due to the Snapdragon 835 chip that bags the latest Qualcomm X16 LTE modem capable of extending to gigabyte speeds. Naturally Bixby on the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8 Plus will also support apps that are native to the device, many of which will be Samsung's own apps like briefing, Samsung Health, Samsung Internet, Samsung Music, Samsung Themes, Video, and more.
Microsoft also added that the Galaxy S8 and the Galaxy S8+ Microsoft Edition smartphones are already available for pre-orders starting today.
Samsung yesterday revealed that the Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus will feature an nearly bezel-free, curved-edge "Infinity Display", along with a fingerprint sensor that's been moved to the back of the phone. The new Galaxy S8 and S8+ will be powered by an octa-core 10nm processor (four cores clocked at 2.3GHz + four cores clocked at 1.7GHz).
Another interesting feature Samsung has introduced with Galaxy S8 is the DeX Dock. The front camera is 8-megapixel with the very much in-demand autofocus feature and f/1.7 aperture.
Both the handsets will boast 4GB of RAM and come with 64GB inbuilt storage while also supporting expandable storage via microSD card (up to 256GB).
Third-party app support for Bixby will reportedly include Facebook and CNN among a handful of other applications that can now be downloaded from the Play Store.
