White House Stalker Who Harassed Malia Obama Captured

Just because she's a former first daughter doesn't mean that her spring style isn't eminently relatable: Malia Obama is striding into the season with a little shirtdress swagger.

The man, 30-year-old Jair Nilton Cardoso, was escorted from the area by the Secret Service, who recognised him as someone who had repeatedly tried to break into the White House while Malia's father was president.

On 10 April, Cardoso reportedly climbed to the fourth floor of Malia's work building and hung a proposal banner, sources said, before being removed by secret service agents, the New York Daily News reports.

The agents reportedly recognized the man and told him to leave the former first daughter alone.

Scarily enough, Malia did experience a security scare outside the Weinstein Company offices on April 12, when it appeared that a man across the street was pretending to be blind so he could stare at her.

HollywoodLifers, are you shocked that Malia was being stalked?

On April 13, Secret Service agents went to Cardosa's apartment in Brooklyn to interview him.

Authorities are determining if stalking or harassment charges against Cardoso should be filed. The NYPD referred him to Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn for a mental health evaluation, according to the NY Daily News, and has not pressed charges against him as of the evening of April 19.

Malia, who is the eldest of the Obama daughters, was reportedly slated to start an internship with film producer Harvey Weinstein after attending the Sundance Film Festival earlier this year.

The Manhattan district attorney's office declined comment.
