The 23-year-old Brazilian worldwide was handed his senior professional debut by Mourinho when they previously worked together at Real Madrid.
Nominally a defensive midfielder, but can play at right-back, Fabinho played an instrumental role in Leonardo Jardim's side reaching last season's Champions League semi-finals as well as winning the French championship.
"If [Manchester United manager Jose] Mourinho invites me it would be very tempting", he told Brazilian television channel Esporte Interativo.
The transfer window is roaring on, with Manchester United set to complete their second major signing of the summer.
He thinks that the club also need to bring in new players, who will help the side and hopes they have the same affect as the transfers did this time past year, leading United to three trophies. "I would first talk to my agent, Monaco too, to decide everything right, but it's a great club, sure enough, I would think well about it".
Unsurprisingly, Manchester United cropped up as a topic and Fabinho was asked what Man United shirt he would wear next season.
A prior loan spell at Real Madrid saw then boss Mourinho give him a brief 14 minute cameo against Malaga in May 2013 when he replaced full-back Fabio Coentrao.
The Brazilian global made his name as a right-back but excelled in a holding midfield role last season to help Leonardo Jardin's side clinch the Ligue 1 title ahead of PSG.
According to recent reports, the Europa League winners are thought to be interested in signing the Brazilian midfielder in a £30m deal from Ligue 1 giants AS Monaco.
That only leaves a striker remaining before Mourinho attempts to build the rest of his team, with Alvaro Morata expected to fill that space on the Portuguese's shopping list in the coming weeks.
