Putin congratulates Russian Muslims on Eid al-Fitr

According to the wife of the president, "the Sallah celebration is imperative as it marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan".

The Central Ruet-i-Hilal Committee had convened the meeting to sight the moon for Eid-ul-Fitr in Islamabad, whereas zonal bodies of the committee also met in Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and Lahore. Therefore, chances are high of Eid being celebrated on June 26 across the country.
But much of the world had no such wait.
Rex Tillerson also broke tradition earlier by rejecting a request to host an Eid-al-Fitr reception, Reuters reported last month.
Most of the Islamic nations like Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Doha, Dubai, Sharjah, Kenya etc will be celebrating Eid tonight.
It is the fervent hope of every Muslim that they continue in the spirit of Ramadan, holding fast onto the principles of brotherhood, unity, kindness and generosity long after the month has ended.

The official announcment by moon sighting committees and religious authorities in the three countries is expected by 08:00 pm today evening.
Eid al-Fitr closes out the month of Ramadan, a time when Muslims abstain from food and water from dawn till dusk. "During this holiday, we are reminded of the importance of mercy, compassion, and goodwill".
Began by former President Bill Clinton, the event has featured members of the Muslim community as well as members of Congress and diplomats from Muslim countries.
