Amazon to host Prime Day in India; What about Flipkart?

After two iterations of the bargain blowout, Amazon announced the third annual Prime Day is coming July 11 (but deals start the night before).

A new study from Radial, which helps retailers strengthen their e-commerce operations, claims the gravitational pull of Prime Day has extended the peak holiday shopping season.

The Prime Day line-up for video is like this: Star Trek - Beyond on July 5, Deepwater Horizon on July 6 Baahubali: The Lost Legends Episode 9 on July 7, Sully on July 8, comedy special Haq Se Single on July 9. During the sale period, Amazon TV Fire Stick will be offered with Rs 499 cashback.

The BookMyShow offer gives users discount of Rs 200 or 50 percent (lower of the two) on movie tickets, with validity up to September 30. Buyers in some countries will also be rewarded with gift vouchers.

Amazon noted that several deals will start Thursday, June 29.
