Value of Denver Broncos jumps in latest Forbes rankings


Ahead of the 2015-16 season, Adidas became United's new kit sponsor worth almost $1 billion over the next 10 years.

The Dallas Cowboys are the world's most valuable sports team, according to the annual list published by Forbes on Wednesday that was dominated by National Football League teams.

The Cowboys are worth an estimated 4.2 billion. In those three years, the Cowboys are now worth a reported $4.1 billion, almost double that total, and now stand at No. 1, above Real Madrid, Barcelona and Manchester United.

The Broncos are now valued at $2.4 billion, up 24 percent from last year's valuation by Forbes of $1.94 billion.

The New York Yankees moved up to number two on the list, coming in at 3.7 billion.

The Los Angeles Rams (formerly of St. Louis) made the list at No. 12 overall, and valued at $2.9 billion.

The Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League come in on top as the most valuable followed in second by baseball's New York Yankees.

The rankings are based on Forbes' analysis done over the past year for all NFL, NHL, NBA, MLB, soccer, NASCAR and Formula One teams.

"Jerry Jones turned a money-losing franchise into the most profitable sports franchise in the world as AT&T Stadium generates the highest sponsorship and premium seating revenue in the sport".
