Billy Zane couldn't help pointing out the irony of the cause that reunited him with Titanic costars Leonard DiCaprio and Kate Winslet Wednesday. "The Revenant" movie star's annual gala will be hosted in St. Tropez, France on July 26.
Billy Zane gets top points for posting that after going down with a ship after it was struck by an iceberg, they're now all working together to save them.
DiCaprio and Winslet played ill-fated lovers Jack Dawson and Rose Bukater in Titanic, with Zane as Rose's villainous fiancé, Cal Hockley.
The two actors first met after they starred together in James Cameron's 1997 blockbuster and have remained close friends ever since.
People.com reports that the actors' dinner will benefit a cause that's close to Kate's heart - supporting a cancer-stricken mother in the United Kingdom and to her Golden Hat Foundation, which benefits families coping with autism and those in need of funds while battling cancer. Now we're saving icebergs.
The winning bidder gets to choose the restaurant, but it has to be in NY, and due to Leo and Kate's busy schedules, the dinner has to take place sometime in October or November.
Lenny Kravitz also performed at the event and took to his Instagram to praise Leo. Winslet is helping a young United Kingdom mother pay for cancer treatment through a GoFundMe page as part of her foundation, as well.
Hollywood sheds a lot of glitter but the initiative of Leonardo DiCaprio has reported more than $ 80 million since 2008, money that is income to various environmental causes. Over the past 20 years, the two co-stars have forged a deep, albeit platonic, friendship, and fans still go insane when they see them together. "I think he found redemption by the end".
Other A-lists guests at the gala included Madonna's ex, Sean Penn, as well as Jared Leto, Cate Blanchett, Kate Hudson, Tom Hanks, Marion Cotillard, Uma Thurman and Edward Norton.
Did we mention Kate Winslet will be there too?
