Showers and storms likely Thursday, some could be severe

Friday will be warm and humid, with the possibility of showers and thunderstorms looming overhead, the National Weather Service reports.

Strong to severe storms are possible late Friday and through the evening.

There may be a bit of a lull in widespread rain tomorrow and Wednesday, but the pattern is expected to energize again around Thursday with elevated rain chances returning. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 65. There will be a mix of sun and clouds and there is a chance for spotty afternoon storms.

Showers and storms are likely throughout the afternoon and evening hours. Temperatures will top out in the lower 80s under mostly cloudy skies. Ahead of the front some storms may develop over western PA, but at this time storms chances remain low during the day for our region.

The chance for showers and storms will continue into Friday as another disturbance approaches from the southwest.

Overnight lows cooler than the heat stretch of July with temperatures in the low 60s.

Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 65.

However, the Weather Service's said late this morning that the potential for the severe thunderstorms it was advising of were through at least 1:30 p.m.

Monday: Partly sunny, with a high near 81. So, look for mostly fair skies and pleasant temperatures here.

Tonight: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 3 a.m. Cloudy, then gradually becoming mostly sunny, with a high near 79.

Thu: High: 85 Low: 68 Scattered showers/storms. Thursday will be mostly cloudy.

Monday: Rain. High near 69.

Wednesday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 77. Chance of precipitation is 80 percent.
