The unofficial last weekend of summer is getting off to a cool, fall-like start, but the weather will improve for Labor Day.
Hurricane tracking maps show Harvey arriving just east of Jena, La. - the closest point it's expected to be to southwest Mississippi - as a tropical depression early Thursday morning before moving across the Mississippi Delta and breaking apart.
"The remnants of Tropical Storm Harvey are on the way and we expect to see not only an increased chance of rainfall but unsafe driving conditions as well", AAA Auto Club Groups public affairs specialist Megan Osborne stated in a news release.
Although clouds are predicted for Saturday, forecasters said Sunday and Monday are projected to be sunny and warm.
TUESDAY: There will be a 50 percent chance of rain.
Most areas will see less than an inch of rain from Harvey Friday night through Sunday morning. As the low moves north, a push of somewhat drier air will move south into Alabama and Georgia, giving us more pleasant mornings and lower humidity starting Saturday. Those amounts are between 15 and 20 percent higher than average.
