Affordable Honor V9 Play With 5.2-Inch Display Goes Official

Honor has launched its new phone, the Honor 6 Play.

Manufacturers priced it at Rs 5,900 (CNY 599), and they made it available to the users in the country from September 7th, 2017. The internal storage for both the variant remains 32GB which is expandable up to 128GB using a microSD card.

Apart from the design, Honor V9 Play features a 5.2-inch HD (720×1280 pixels) display with 2.5D curved glass on top for added protection and 65-percent NTSC colour gamut.

The smartphone runs on an older Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system which is wrapped under EMUI 4.1.

One of the most appealing features of the device is that it comes with a 20+12-megapixel dual rear camera which is capable of capturing breathtaking images by providing stability even while in dark conditions. To power the device, there's a 3000mAh battery under the hood. The V9 Play is powered by the MediaTek MT6750 SoC with 1.5 GHz octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU and Mali-T860MP2 GPU. The 4 GB variant is priced slightly higher at CNY 1199 (approximately Rs 11,800). This is a budget 4G phone with 3020mAh battery and 2GB RAM.

It has the metal uni-body design along with rounded edges, antenna bands, rear fingerprint scanner.

While up front, there is a 5MP selfie snapper which comes with a f/2.4 aperture.

To recall, the recently launched Honor V9 Play runs EMUI 5.1 based on Android 7.0 Nougat and supports a hybrid dual-SIM slot (Nano + Nano/ microSD). The connectivity options offer Wi-Fi, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 4.0, USB 2.0, and Global Positioning System. The price of Honor 6 play in India will be around 5K to 6K. The handset measures 143.8x72x8.85mm and weighs 150 grams. Honor V9 Play comes in Gold, Rose Gold, Red, Blue and Black color options. The display up front is a 5.2-inch HD (720 x1280) IPS panel with quite thin side bezels although the chin and forehead remain.
