When Beckham admitted earlier this week, "I probably had one of the longest offseasons ever in my life", he spoke volumes about the ongoing journey of one of the most dissected, analyzed, talented, feared, adored personalities in the NFL.
Odell Beckham Jr.'s health: The biggest question going into the game is the health of the Giants' best offensive player.
TV: 8:30 p.m. ET, NBC. "So, it's just unfortunate, but it really was just a little setback for me to come back". The total hit the betting board at 49.5 and has been dropped two points to 47.5.
WHAT SHARPS SAY: The Giants have dominated this series of late, winning the money the last five games in a row.
The best Giants teams have been built around defense, and a year ago they found their swagger on the defensive end once again on their way to an 11-5 record and a wild card berth. Additionally, safety Landon Collins has developed into a versatile and dynamic playmaker on the back end, helping in both the run and pass game.
The three-time Pro Bowler and the Giants' leading receiver will have another chance to practice Saturday when the team works out at roughly 85 percent of full speed before traveling to Texas. Personally I do believe he'll play, how effective he'll be is completely unknown. "We'll see how he responds". If Beckham is a scratch, this line will definitely shoot up to 5 or maybe even 5 ½. But the Giants have played Dallas with a lot of split safeties, meaning the middle is the most vulnerable area of the field. That way, if Beckham doesn't play, you aren't locked into only replacing him with a wide receiver.
Eli Manning, a longtime competitor for the title of best quarterback in the division, will have to fend off a challenge from a second-year competitor. Beckham, whose status is up in the air following a preseason ankle injury, put up 101 catches and 1,367 yards a year ago, numbers which might actually go up in 2017 with the other weapons taking attention away from him. "We still got guys who can make plays". Elliott was the focal point of the offense, getting at least 20 carries in 12 games while rushing for 15 touchdowns and eclipsing 100 yards seven times, but was held to 162 yards on the ground in two meetings against the Giants. This comes after the Cowboys easily posted the best record in the league previous year.
Week one is here New York Giants fans.
