Cardinals waiting to find out severity of David Johnson's wrist injury

Cardinals head coach added that Johnson is seeking a second opinion. The guy is an incredible back and a fantasy monster.

Johnson's injury could require surgery, Arians said.

If the 25-year-old Johnson goes on injured reserve, he would be required to miss eight weeks. Start combing practice squads? It looked like the injury initially occurred with six minutes left to go in the third quarter, when he hauled in a 24-yard reception in triple coverage. One report suggested Johnson could avoid missed time entirely if he doesn't have surgery, but that seems to have been rather optimistic.

Up to that point in the game there hadn't been too much to write home about Johnson's performance.

He said Johnson is now seeking a second opinion on the injury before deciding whether to undergo surgery. It's an opportunity for someone to step up.

This is the same injury suffered by rookie running back T.J. Logan during the Hall of Fame Game in August.

He is coming off his first full season as the starter where he racked up 1,239 rushing yards with 16 touchdowns along with 80 catches for 879 receiving yards and four touchdowns.

"We'll find out the severity of that", Arians said after the game. "I really expect our five-star players to bounce back pretty quick".
