Champions League to test coach Klopp's progress

Liverpool return to the Champions League tomorrow night when they welcome Sevilla to Anfield for their group stage opener.

The Egypt global who was replaced at halftime in the 5-0 defeat to Manchester City on Saturday was absent from first team training as they prepare to face Eduardo Berizzo's men.

"We have to take the first 20 minutes and how we played before the global break and take it into the next game", Mignolet said.

I expect him to do just that and if he shows his desire is as strong as ever on the field, all the nonsense that went on over the Barcelona interest will be forgotten.

After avoiding Real Madrid, Barcelona, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, Liverpool have to be delighted to end up with Sevilla, Maribor and Spartak Moscow.

He said earlier on Tuesday he was looking forward to the Sevilla game.

Despite not playing any games for Liverpool this season, the Sunday Express report that Jurgen Klopp is planning to use the player soon, once he recovers from his acute back injury.

That 3-1 loss against Sevilla in May 2016 was tough to take as it meant no European football for Liverpool last season and it could have been avoided if Klopp's side had defended better on the night. The former Chelsea star urged his teammates to put their recent battering from Manchester City out of their minds and secure victory over the much-lauded Spaniards, who have enjoyed a very positive start to the new campaign. "I would like to win that game", Salah said on Liverpool's official website.

Klopp may be without Mohamed Salah, however, as the winger missed out on Tuesday, which could prompt an immediate return to the starting lineup for Liverpool's No. 10.
