Barcelona fears hamstring tear for Dembele

Barcelona came from behind this afternoon to take the three points on offer against Getafe.

Ousmane Dembele suffered a hamstring injury and was substituted in his first La Liga start for Barcelona during their clash with Getafe on Saturday.

The Brazil worldwide netted his first Barca goal with six minutes remaining as Ernesto Valverde's men recovered from a awful first half to claim a fourth straight top-flight victory in 2017-18.

A thunderbolt from Gaku Shibasaki had seen Getafe lead in the latter stages of the first period, but Denis Suarez and Paulinho both came off the Barcelona bench to win it for the league leaders.

As for Getafe, Jorge Molina once again led the line for the capital outfit, while Japan worldwide Shibasaki also kept his position in the team.

The France winger who an initial €105million, was making his first La Liga start for the Catalans, picked up a hamstring injury and was replaced by Gerard Deulofeu.

Somewhat against the run of play, Barca should have moved ahead when Samuel Umtiti could only send a close-range free header straight at Vicente Guaita from Andres Iniesta's in-swinging cross.

It was the home side that took the lead in the 39th minute, however, when Shibasaki found the top corner with a stunning left-footed volley from the edge of the Barcelona box.

Messi nearly found a quick-fire equaliser, his free kick curling towards Guaita's top-left corner, but the goalkeeper managed to tip it over.

Halftime substitute Denis Suarez curled in the equaliser from inside the box after being set-up by Sergi Roberto in the 62nd minute, 1-1. Fellow new recruit Paulinho then became the unlikely hero with a goal that issued a considerable statement to his doubters.

Paulinho celebrates after his winning goal helps Barcelona beat Getafe 2-1.
