Find out how to live stream Thursday Night Football between the Cincinnati Bengals and Houston Texans here. Houston also lost receiver Bruce Ellington, who enjoyed a productive preseason, to a concussion, but will welcome back receiver Jaelen Strong from his one-game suspension. Cincinnati actually out-gained Houston 295-266, but its failure to capitalize is a serious problem that the Bengals need to address moving forward.
Rookie quarterback Deshaun Watson played his first National Football League game as a starter against the Cincinnati Bengals Thursday.
Watson was steady throughout Thursday's game, going 15 of 24 for 125 yards. To get to the top where I want to be, is going to take time. DeShaun Watson completed 12 of 23 passes for 102 yards and a touchdown against an interception while Tom Savage added 62 yards in 7-for-13 passes.
Lamar Miller 18 carries 61 yards (3.4) and three receptions for 26 yards. Hopkins finished with 73 yards on seven catches. Luckily, kicker Randy Bullock showed up and gave the team a 3-for-3 field goal kicking day to give them those nine points. Cincinnati's last drive ended when Dalton threw incomplete on fourth-and-9 from his own 44.
Joe Mixon has not looked the part thus far in his rookie campaign. Despite that, he led Houston to a win on his 22nd birthday.
ABOUT THE TEXANS (0-1): Reports out of Houston indicate that Watson, who guided Clemson to the national championship in January, will be under center for Thursday's matchup if he is not hindered by an ankle injury during Tuesday's practice.
"I thought K-Jack played one of the best games he's had since I've been here", head coach Bill O'Brien said Friday.
For the Cincinnati Bengals, the struggles continue as they are 0-2 to begin the season.
Meanwhile, the Bengals are 6-1-1 ATS in their last eight games in Week 2, and 4-1 ATS in their last five versus a team with a losing record.
It's also the first time in franchise history the Bengals have failed to score a touchdown in back-to-back home games. The Bengals have some beasts on the defensive line, led by Geno Atkins, and they'll be in Watson's face all night.
