Mariota, who suffered a hamstring injury against the Texans, is questionable for Sunday afternoon's game at Miami.
The Titans have agreed to terms with free agent quarterback Brandon Weeden. Mularkey said there's a possibility the Titans won't know about Mariota's availability until late in the week, possibly as late as Sunday. The 22nd pick overall in 2012, Weeden has started for Cleveland, Dallas and Houston; the Texans released him September 2 in their final cuts.
Weeden, who's 33, has played with the Browns, Cowboys and Texans in his career. In 2015 Cassel started in eight of the 10 games he appeared in. Mariota now has a passer rating of 79.8 with three touchdown passes and three interceptions, and he has completed 66 of 110 for 792 yards. To make room on the roste they waived linebacker Josh Carraway.
