Iran supreme leader Khamenei says Trump talking nonsense

"It would be a waste of time to react to the nonsense spoken by the vulgar US president", Khamenei was cited by the ISNA news agency as saying on Wednesday.

On Wednesday, an Twitter account attributed to Ayatollah Khamenei quoted him as telling students in Tehran that it was a "waste of time for anyone to answer" Mr Trump.

"Trump's stupidity should not distract us from America's deceitfulness. I don't think there is a majority in the U.S. Senate that wants to abolish the deal".

Khamenei said the world should not be fooled by Trump´s public persona. We welcomed this, but it is not enough to ask Trump not to rip up the agreement.

Under the deal, Iran agreed to curb its disputed uranium enrichment program in return for relief from global sanctions that crippled its economy, and United Nations nuclear inspectors have repeatedly certified Tehran's compliance with the terms.

The American leader called for the deal to be amended to prevent Iran from developing nuclear weapons or intercontinental ballistic missiles. Pouyanne has said Total would withdraw from Iran if obliged by law.

He said Iran would stick by its commitments under the 2015 nuclear deal, which Trump has threatened to "terminate" unless the US Congress tightens sanctions on the country.

Also, International Monterey Fund (IMF) Managing Director Christine Lagarde said the IMF sees no reason to change its policy on granting loans to Iran despite U.S. pressures and bans.

Tehran has repeatedly pledged to continue what it calls a defensive missile capability in defiance of Western criticism. "There is an ongoing process in the United States".

Tehran has said it seeks only civilian nuclear energy from its enrichment of uranium, and that the program has nothing to do with missile development efforts.

"They must avoid interfering in our defence programme", Khamenei said.

"The US president is reflecting stupidity", Khamenei said, adding that the reason he is annoyed with Iran is because USA policies in Syria, Iraq and Lebanon have failed.

"While the USA government continuously is acting against the Iranian nation with imposing new sanctions and creating economic difficulties, against Iraqis and Syrians with growing terrorism, against Yemeni people with bombarding them, and against the people of Bahrain with supporting dictators, they label Iran as a supporter of terrorism without providing any evidence". Why do you have missiles yourselves? "Why do YOU have nuclear weapons?"
