India defeat Pakistan by 4-0 to reach Asia Cup final

India will be looking to register another victory over Pakistan as they take on the neighbouring country for the second time in Asia Cup in the Super 4s match on Saturday.

North Korea's home match was postponed twice after the murder of the North Korean leader's half-brother in Malaysia in February sent tensions soaring.

India had beaten Malaysia 6-2 in the round robin.

Lalit Upadhyay gave India 3-0 lead after scoring a minute after Harmanpreet Singh.

India have scored some lovely field goals in the tournament, displaying what they are best known for, one-touch attacking hockey.

It should be mentioned that in the first match of the Super Four stage, India played a 1-1 draw from South Korea.

After the match, sportspersons including Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore and Hockey India tweeted from their official Twitter account expressing their joy on social media as Indian team qualified into the finals of the Asia Cup.

Harmanpreet doubled India's lead in the 19th minute with a powerful flick off the side's third penalty corner. The tempo of the match increased towards the end of the first quarter but the teams ended the first quarter goal-less. India won two successive penalty corners in the 48th and 49th minute, both of which were saved by Pakistan's Amjad Ali with some heroic saves to deny the Indians.

India completely outplayed Pakistan, to secure their spot in the 2017 Hockey Asia Cup final.

A trademark reverse hit by Gurjant from the left flank to Sunil who made a diving attempt to push the ball into the post ensured the local crowds were thoroughly entertained. There also the Green Shirts defeated India in the decisive last match.

Tengku Tajuddin then missed an easy chance for Malaysia. Gurjant Singh completed the last rites for Pakistan as the Indians by the 57th minute of the match were leading 4-0 that left Pakistan with little much to do other than accept defeat.
