NYPD, Manhattan DA's Office Investigate New Rape Allegations Against Harvey Weinstein

She told the publication that Weinstein then started to kiss her, and after she tried to brush him away, he pushed her onto the bed, with his trousers down, and lifted up her skirt.

Manhattan's district attorney's office confirmed a senior prosecutor was looking at the case.

The NYPD said they corroborated portions of actress Paz de la Huerta's account, in which she alleges Weinstein raped her twice in her apartment, and are seeking more evidence in their investigation to obtain an arrest warrant.

There has been no statute of limitations on rape, criminal sexual act or aggravated sexual abuse in the first degree in the state of NY since 2006, which means that de la Huerta has the strongest claim against Weinstein.

On a November night, de la Huerta saw Weinstein at a hotel bar in Manhattan, according to the story, and he offered her a ride home.

That's when the first alleged assault occurred. The therapist has written a letter recalling their sessions about the alleged rapes, Vanity Fair reported.

She called police on October 26, he said.

Almost two months later, de la Huerta said Weinstein showed up in the lobby of her apartment one night. She describes him as being drunk at the time, and insisting again on going up to her apartment.

"The first time I was in complete shock and it happened so quickly". "In a million ways I knew how to say no, I said "no".

It is at least the third Weinstein case that police in NY have examined.

Weinstein denies any non-consensual relations. She said she shared what happened with her best friend and her therapist.

Detective DiGaudio is leading the investigation for the department, and has received reports from at least three women claiming they were sexually assaulted by Weinstein.

"I think he's done it to too many women, and he's gotten away with it for too many years", she said.
