Watson's 19 touchdown passes are the most ever by a player in his first seven National Football League games.
Although Watson and Beckham are both out for the rest of the 2017 season, both players are expected to return healthy in 2018.
The Clemson head coach then went on to say, "All he did after the injury in 2014 was come back and lead us to the National Championship game twice and of course we won it previous year". Now the team is left with just one quarterback on their roster - Tom Savage, who made it through just one half of one game this season.
"They say you never miss it until it's gone and even though it's not gone for long, I already miss it", Watson wrote using the notes app on his phone, before posting the message to Twitter. He led NFL QBs in rushing yards and was tied for first with 19 touchdowns in the air. Through weeks four through eight, Watson has thrown for three or more touchdowns each game, including tying the record for most in a game by a rookie with 5, which he did in a 42-34 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs.
Whats next for the Texans? Watt and linebacker Whitney Mercilus to season-ending injuries October 8.
With Watson ruled out indefinitely and needing surgery, the Texans will have to rely on Savage to be the starter.
