Crystal Palace Not Interested In Jack Wilshere - Roy Hodgson

The Gunners number 10 has made six appearances in all competitions with a place in Gareth Southgate's England squad for next summer's World Cup up for grabs.

Southgate said his decision to omit Wilshere was because he didn't think the 25-year-old was being used in his best position.

England boss Gareth Southgate has also warned the midfielder that he will not earn an global recall unless he is playing regularly, meaning a likely Emirates Stadium exit in the eyes of Merson.

Wilshere is back to full fitness at Arsenal for the first time in a long time.

Ex-Eagles boss Alan Pardew failed to land Wilshere in a loan swoop at the the beginning of last season. But we are not playing with a 10 tomorrow [against Germany on Friday].

Home-grown Adams feels that was an important part of the Arsenal side that famously won the league in 1989, with the likes of David Rocastle, Michael Thomas, Paul Davis, Niall Quinn and Paul Merson all also having emerged from the club's youth team.

"I think he is a deeper player but he is not playing deeper".

"I don't think Jack is a ten", he told Sky Sports News.

"You'd have to ask Arsene why he wasn't at Arsenal last year and you'd have to ask Eddie why he played him as a 10 last year".

"I want to be clear: I really like Jack Wilshere as a player".

"Now you are telling me we have been linked with him, but by who?"

"I have got no idea about where the name of Jack Wilshere has come from, so where did you get it from?"

"I like him very much, but why his name should be being talked about for Crystal Palace, I don't know". But players like Jack and Alex Iwobi that came from the academy just feel more for the club.

"He needs to get on the ball and play football and be in a team that really are going to have a lot more of the ball than not".
