Today's Bungie live stream was the first of three providing additional details about the upcoming Destiny 2 Curse of Osiris expansion. Next we see Osiris getting surrounded by Vex. Future streams about Curse of Osiris will unravel more information.
We see Osiris in the expansion as a Middle Eastern man dressed in Eqypt inspired clothing, and he has a female ghost named Sagira. Players will also be able to travel to the Lighthouse, the social space on Mercury that was previously exclusive for players who had gotten nine consecutive victories during a Trials of Osiris run. "I hope people complain about how much story we have".
Curse of Osiris takes place after the events of Destiny 2.
According to Bungie's stream today, it turns out there will be an entirely new raid to play with when the first DLC drops next month, sort of.
Speaking to IGN ahead of the Destiny 2 launch, senior narrative lead Jason Harris and cinematic lead Matthew Ward waxed lyrical about the sheer amount of story spread throughout Destiny 2.
If you thought "new Raid content" meant an all-new Raid, you're going to be a bit disappointed by Curse of Osiris.
Creating raids are presumably a lot of work, but everyone new expansion to-date in Destiny's history other than House of Wolves, featured a brand new raid.
The normal Leviathan raid will also be raised up to to a higher power levels and both the original, and the new lair version, will have new armor, weapons and cosmetics for players to collect.
Bungie also revealed that the Heroic Strikes playlist will make a return. It will have a Prestige mode, if you're the tough type. The Raid Lair will be shorter than the original raid which may be useful for those who can not spend consecutive hours playing.
Curse of Osiris will add two big, all-new areas to the game: one on the surface of Mercury, and one underneath it.
What we could see on stream certainly looked interesting, and hopefully builds onto the Destiny 2 we now have to provide fun and interesting new challenges for players.
