The President said to the citizens that "every year during christmas time we recognise the spirit of christmas is not what we have, it's about who we are, each one of us is a child of god, that is the true source of joy, this time of the year, that is what makes every christmas merry".
This week, MSNBC's Chris Hayes made a decision to troll President Trump, who has declared that he's bringing back "Merry Christmas", by playing a compilation of former President Barack Obama and former first lady Michelle Obama saying "Merry Christmas".
For tonight's National Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony in Washington, D.C., such a grand occasion called for a grand shoe: 4.7 inches on a pin-thin stiletto heel.
One Twitter user pointed out that the dimly lit hallway lined with dead branches painted white looks like the flawless spot to tape a "Stranger Things" scene.
At last year's ceremony, President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle feted Kelly Clarkson, Eva Longoria, Garth Brooks and Trisha Yearwood, Marc Anthony and Chance the Rapper.
"Looks great", one person wrote.
The decor is meant to be classic, with nods to the White House's first "Nutcracker"-themed Christmas in 1961, as well as warm and welcoming, according to the press release". "As with many families across the country, holiday traditions are very important to us".
The nearly 100-year-old tradition dates back to the 30th president of the U.S., President Calvin Coolidge, in 1923.
The White House unveiled its holiday decorations this week, issuing a video (below) of the Balsam fir trees sparkling with lights and ornaments adorning rooms throughout the White House. LifeSiteNews.com reports that there are also cookies, bows, candles, and other reminders of the holiday season.
