Russian Federation accuses U.S. of 'provoking' North Korea

Trump kept the war of words going while speaking at a meeting in Missouri ridiculing Kim as a "sick puppy" and "little rocket man". "North Korea confrontation is going", he said.

Mr Lavrov said the way the U.S. was handling the situation was dangerously provocative. Also at that time, the North Koreans will become confident in their arsenal.

He urged the acceptance of a proposal made jointly by China and Russian Federation that would require North Korea to suspend nuclear activity and the US and South Korea to halt joint military exercises in order to pave the way for talks.

He said: "You can't rule out any scenario, including the start of histories next great war".

The remarks are a blatant smack in the face for US President Donald Trump who warned any nation with economic connections to North Korea would be punished, and could push the globe closer to full-scale war.

"But that is an assumption that I would not make".

Russian Federation has condemned the test, like others before it, as "a provocation", but Lavrov said the way the United States was handling the situation was dangerously provocative.

"We have got to take them at their word, so this could be a global conflict".

China is known to be reluctant to exert any kind of pressure that could cripple the North Korean regime and spark instability on their shared border.

North Korea claimed the new Hwasong-15 missile soared to an altitude of about 2,780 miles (4,475 km) and flew 590 miles (950km) during its 53-minute flight before landing in the sea new Japan.

North Korea tested a missile this week that experts believe showed that the rogue regime could launch an attack that reaches the USA mainland, spiking concerns that the country may soon be able to attach a miniaturized nuclear weapon to one of those missiles.

"If they want to find a pretext for destroying North Korea, as the United States envoy said at the UN Security Council, then let them say it outright and let the supreme American leadership confirm it".

Meanwhile, Russian Foreign Ministry also raised "serious" concern about North Korea's new missile launch that violated the relevant resolutions of the UN Security Council. "If war does come, it will be because of continued acts of aggression like we witnessed yesterday".
