Overwhelming, satisfying: Katrina Kaif on Tiger Zinda Hai success

A sequel to Kabir Khan's Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai is touted as the best film of Salman's career.

Tiger Zinda Hai has earned Rs 190.62 crore so far. Crosses Rs 150 crore on day four. The espionage thriller raked in Rs 21.60 crore yesterday and now stands with the grand total of Rs 173.07 crore. Collecting Rs. 17.55 cr on December 27 which incidentally is the sixth day of its release Tiger Zinda Hai ranks as the second highest grosser on this day, losing the first place to the Aamir Khan starrer Dangal that had collected Rs. 23.09 cr on December 27, 2016. The momentum so far indicates a first week in excess of 205 crore and the competition would be the lifetime of Golmaal Again [205.70 crore], which so far is the biggest Bollywood blockbuster of the year.

The Christmas holiday has also helped in boosting the worldwide sales of Tiger Zinda Hai.

Tiger Zinda Hai is on a dream run at the box office. The wave of pessimism has swept away, thankfully. "Tiger Zinda Hai" had a roaring start at the box-office as it opened with Rs 34 crore on Friday, followed by Rs 35.25 crore and completed the weekend with a collection of Rs 114 crore. Although it is more than Salman Khan's Tubelight and Sultan, it is still less than Bahubali 2: The Conclusion and Shahrukh Khan's Happy New Year.

TZH is inspired by the real-life incident of the rescue of Indian nurses held hostage in Iraq by terrorists and at the helm of affairs of the mission is Indian RAW agent Tiger (Salman Khan). And when paired with Katrina Kaif, Aditya Chopra, and Ali Abbas Zafar, the film had little chance of failing.
