Alabama Running Back Bo Scarbrough, who just finished his junior season with the Crimson Tide, has signed with a sports marketing company and is headed to the National Football League, according to a source.
Ridley's 7-yard touchdown catch with 3:49 left tied the title game against Georgia and Alabama won 26-23 in overtime.
Unanimous All-American junior defensive back Minkah Fitzpatrick highlighted the Crimson Tide's quartet of early entrants that included fellow safety Ronnie Harrison, running back Bo Scarbrough and defensive tackle Da'Ron Payne. Payne was a key run-stopper in the middle and also had an interception and touchdown catch in the semifinal win over Clemson.
He led Alabama in receiving in each of his three seasons, and finishes his Tide career second in school history in receptions (224), third in receiving yards (2,781) and second in TD receptions (19). Scarbrough rushed for 596 yards and 8 touchdowns.
Saban said he looks forward to the day when these players return to watch Alabama from the sidelines, like a big group at Monday night's national title game against Georgia. All five of those players are juniors, with Barkley, Guice and Jones having announced they are turning pro. Kiper ranks Harris as the No. 5 draft-eligible running back.
Just three days after winning a second straight national title with Alabama, Minkah Fitzpatrick has made a decision to declare for the 2018 NFL Draft.
Fitzpatrick, 6-1, 202 pounds, was fourth on the Crimson Tide defense with 60 tackles and second with seven passes defensed. He was a top-100 prospect nationally in the 2015 signing class, according to ESPN and Rivals.com. "As a child, all of my dreams involved playing football, and it deeply saddens me that I can't play anymore".
