Aubameyang And Mkhitaryan On Fire As Arsenal Tear Through Everton

The £56million-signing from Borussia Dortmund netted the fourth goal for the Gunners as they romped it against Everton at the Emirates.

'If I tell you I have a positive mood after the next game, we'll say yes, we'll be positive until the end of the season.

Mkhitaryan, in particular, looked superb as he laid on three goals on his debut having struggled to make an impact at Manchester United.

Wenger praised midfielder Ramsey's ability to take up risky positions in the penalty area, adding: "He always has between 10 and 15 goals, at least, in his locker". He doesn't rush it, and that's maybe the secret to being efficient.

"We studied how Swansea played (in beating Arsenal 2-1 on Tuesday), how defensively sound they were and how they limited Arsenal to very few chances".

"Mkhitaryan is a good link player and works very hard as well. They are technically good, quick and overall it was a convincing performance".

"The quality of his movement was excellent, the quality of his finishing looks excellent", said Wenger afterwards. Arsenal fans will be hoping they continue that bright start in next Saturday north London derby at Tottenham.

Mkhitaryan set up Ramsey to open the scoring with just six minutes gone before Koscielny nodded in at the back-post.

Aubameyang made his first significant contribution after 13 minutes, shooting wide after another good contribution from the industrious Ramsey.

Even at this early stage in the game the hosts were already in cruise mode, barely breaking into a sweat to add their second via a Laurent Koscielny header after Shkodran Mustafi flicked on a corner.

Wenger's delight was in stark contrast to Everton boss Sam Allardyce, who raged at his side's defending as they conceded four times in the opening 39 minutes.

If you fancy Walcott to score on his return to the Emirates, he is a tempting 9/2 on the Sportsbook to follow on from his midweek heroics.

Arsenal have no players suspended for this game.

It merely delayed the inevitable, however; Mkhitarian's deft pass put Aubameyang in behind an Everton defence vainly appealing for an offside flag that should have gone up but never did and the striker clipped the ball over the goalkeeper to make it 4-0. Hopefully there's a lot more to come and they can help us push to finish off the season strongly.

Everton eventually managed to pull one back through Dominic Calvert-Lewin in the 64th minute, just after replacing former Gunner Theo Walcott, but Arsenal's four-goal advantage was restored when Ramsey completed his hat-trick in the 74th minute as the home side cruised to a comprehensive win.
