Wenger praises Kane; English "masters of diving"

With 90 minutes under his belt, the Belgian is looking forward to the season and is especially keen to be part of the big north London derby against Arsenal at the weekend. We had a few problems with Cech and he has not practised. That star power, added to the likes of Alexandre Lacazette and Mesut Ozil creates a formidable quartet, though the former Lyon striker was left on the bench during their 5-1 defeat of Everton last weekend.

The Arsenal manager's comments come just days after Tottenham duo Harry Kane and Dele Alli - two of England's most high profile players - were accused of diving in the 2-2 draw at Liverpool on Sunday.

"Of course, the Premier League is an unbelievable league", Pulisic said.

"But the English players have learned very quickly and are maybe the masters now".

"But Arsenal are not yet ready to win a Premier League due to their inability to stay in games away from home for long enough to grind out results".

"Basically, we should have a similar squad to what we had last week against Everton", Wenger said in his pre-match press conference.

The pair have already started to regenerate their old partnership, with Mkhitaryan grabbing three assists on his home debut, including setting up Aubameyang for his first goal for the Gunners.

Under George Graham, Arsenal were heading toward their second First Division title in three seasons, and had sights set on the double. "It gives you a good pitch to allow you to play the way you want to", said Wenger. "They all want to play".

Terry Venables' men went on to lift the trophy back at Wembley in the FA Cup final against Nottingham Forest, which saw Gascoigne taken off on a stretcher with a serious knee injury.

"This season, if you look at the table, is a very important game". Newcastle's flat formation meant they couldn't handle McArthur's presence in the number ten space. Another constant could be removed from the team as Petr Cech needs a late fitness test, though there is a case that his understudy David Ospina is the superior goalkeeper anyway.

The Gabon global signed for the north London side on transfer deadline day last week, just days after Mkhitaryan completed his move from Manchester United as part of the deal which saw Alexis Sanchez head in the other direction. And not merely because they have home advantage on Saturday.
