Snapchat redesign petition gets response, but it could make people even angrier

Over 1.2 million people have signed a petition asking Snapchat to revert back to the version before its most recent update.

However, some Snapchat users were exhausted of seeing stories and Snaps with the temperature on them.

It said that it is changing some parts of the redesign to try and make them more palatable to users. Also, Snapchat will get a new feature called Tabs, which will help users in organising and seeing the Stories they wish to.

The statement highlights that the app will "adapt" to each user and "get smart over time".

To use the new feature, users can tap on the sticker icon on the main page, type in the search field, and a new GIF section will reveal various stickers related to the search.

We hear you, and appreciate that you took the time to let us know how you feel. "We completely understand the new Snapchat has felt uncomfortable for many", the company wrote on, in response to the petition.

Snap added an update will soon simplify following the Stories users want to see. It also introduced an upcoming update to the app, which will add tabs in both Friends and Discover to make it easier for users to sort through different stories.

Animated GIFs are now available in the latest Snapchat update on iOS and Android.

Snap CEO Evan Spiegel recently reiterated the company's commitment to stick with the new design in an appearance at a Goldman Sachs investor event, where he told critics that they were proving the company right. "How about you quit telling us what you think we'll like and change it back to the way you know we all like", wrote another.

"By putting everything from your friends in one place, our goal was to make it easier to connect with the people you care about most", said Snap in its reply. Along with the new design changes, the update will also include a new way to filter friends with active Stories, Group Chats, and Subscriptions.
