One-Handed Prospect Impresses At NFL Combine

Griffin, whose twin brother Shaquill made a pre-draft visit to the Titans a year ago and is a cornerback with the Seahawks, didn't initially receive an invitation to Indianapolis.

"I feel like I could just start curling 225 right now and I'm pretty sure come tomorrow, it's going to be adrenalin just going insane".

Griffin was 4 years old when doctors amputated his left hand a day after his mother found him in the kitchen attempting to cut off his jelly-like fingers, which were in scoring pain whenever he touched anything, the result of amniotic band syndrome, a congenital birth defect.

"This is a legitimate football player", NFL Network analyst Mike Mayock said. Come (Sunday), I'm pretty sure the adrenaline will be insane.

He will go through his on-field workout with the rest of the linebackers at the combine Sunday. However, he was an all-conference player at linebacker and he played at defensive back during his first two seasons at UCF.

Shaquem Griffin is a culture changer that will make some great plays at the next level. Show me what you can do, and we'll go from there.

Shaquem Griffin is one of the most phenomenal stories to come through the football world in quite some time. I added more than three or four to my actual max.

The combine puts prospects through a host of physical tests to determine their athletic capacity; anything from position drills, to a 40-yard dash, or bench press, and a host of other assessments. Griffin's twin brother and Seattle Seahawks cornerback, Shaquill, also ran a 4.38 at last year's combine. He said he expects to do both linebacker drills and defensive back drills, but said he would do both at his pro day if he is too worn out to do double duty Sunday.

As most fans of the league are aware, Smith is widely known as one of the fastest linebackers in the NFL, if not the fastest.

"I'm planning on doing both linebacker and DB drills", Griffin said. "If I feel this good right now, I can't wait to see how I am tomorrow".

"I want them to know that I don't have to be the guy who just rushes the quarterback. At the Senior Bowl, I played D-line, linebacker and safety".
