Missouri freshman Michael Porter Jr. set to play in SEC Tournament

Porter has been out since the Tigers' season opener, when he played two minutes and left the game with a back injury.

Porter's return will make Missouri a risky team in the NCAA Tournament.

Martin said Porter would not start but will play as long as he can and won't be under any restrictions.

Mizzou blue-chipper Michael Porter Jr.is ready to go and could play 20-25 minutes in Thursday's second-round SEC Tournament game according to head coach Cuonzo Martin.

Since then, Porter Jr. has practiced with the team, but has not yet played.

The tournament begins on Wednesday, but the Tigers don't play until Thursday where they'll take on the victor of the Georgia-Vanderbilt game. "It's really how I feel, the flow of the game, and how he feels".

A few minutes before, when three Missouri players took the podium, it did not sound like they knew Porter was planning to play.

"Unless Mike says otherwise, that's what it is", Martin said.

NBA Draft analysts still project Porter to be a lottery selection. Porter Jr. had initially committed to the Huskies.

The Tigers have compiled a 20-11 record this season and will enter the conference tournament as the No. 5 seed after finishing 10-8 in league play.
