Police on the hunt for Heather Locklear's handgun

"The Melrose Place" and "Dynasty" actress' boyfriend, Chris Heisser, had placed a domestic disturbance call to authorities on February 25.

Police had reason to believe that the former Melrose Place actress was armed during the altercation with her boyfriend, Chris Heisser. TMZ sources claimed she told police, "If you ever come back to my house I will shoot you". She was also arrested on three counts of misdemeanor battery of a peace officer.

She was initially arrested after police were called to her home and she was booked on suspicion of felony domestic violence and three counts of battery, as she allegedly attacked the three responding officers.

A few hours after Locklear's arrest, Heisser was arrested on a driving under the influence charge in Thousand Oaks, California. Investigators discovered that Locklear had a gun registered in her name, but no gun was found during Tuesday's search.

Buschow told Us that the police did not find the gun during the search. We're told she is now in a medical treatment facility.

A rep for Locklear's latest show, "To Close to Home", said she is now on hiatus and they have no information regarding her arrest. She was not only verbally uncooperative but physically abusive to officers, ' a LA police spokesperson said at the time. The Associated Press said last week that she had been released and was due in court on March 13, but TMZ reported Wednesday that Locklear is still undergoing treatment at an unnamed facility. "(She) wants her mother to get clean and sober once and for all...

Sources close to Locklear have said that she was "spiraling out of control" ahead of the incident. In her many Instagram posts since then, she has cheerful photos of her with her dog, and of with Ava, her 20-year-old daughter with ex-husband Richie Sambora.
