Marvel-themed land heading to Disneyland Resort

Disney describes the land as "a completely immersive Super Hero universe".

One of the more controversial parts of Disneyland's "Pirates of the Caribbean" ride is the "Bride Auction", a scene depicting women lined up for auction that will no longer be a part of the ride after next year, Disney Parks announced on its blog this week.

The new parks will include rides, attractions and experiences that center around heroes such as Spider-Man, Iron Man, The Wasp and Ant-Man, among many others. This will soon be joined by Spider-Man and the Avengers in what will become a completely immersive universe that will take over the spot now occupied by "A Bug's Land" (sorry Bug's Life fans).

Disney Parks Tuesday that new attractions based around The Avengers and Marvel superheroes will be added to the three different Disneyland parks across the world, including Disneyland Paris, Disneyland Resort in California, and Hong Kong Disneyland.

California's Disneyland isn't the only park to be getting the Avengers treatment.

Unlike Walt Disney World in Florida, which is building a "Guardians of the Galaxy" roller coaster of its own at Epcot, the new Marvel land will include Spider-Man. All of this will follow an epic experience launching this summer, when Disneyland Paris hosts Marvel Summer of Super Heroes from June 10 to September 30.

Disneyland Resort, Disneyland Paris and Hong Kong Disneyland will all see changes in the coming years. The expansion at Hong Kong Disneyland Resort will bring a new attraction or entertainment offering nearly every year through 2023.

The current attraction that replaced the Hollywood Tower of Terror has become the "highest-rated" attraction at Disneyland Resort since its 2017 overhaul, the park said.
