Humboldt crash victim misidentified: Ministry of Justice

Many gathered at the community center attached to the hockey arena there after word of the horrific crash began to circulate.
Saskatchewan Premier Scott Moe retweeted a photo of one player who survived, Derek Patter, lying side-by-side with two other injured players on hospital beds, clasping each other's hands in support.
Kelly Schatz, Logan's father, says his 20-year-old son played for the Broncos for just over four years and had served as team captain for the past 2 ½ years.
Chris Joseph used to play for the Pittsburgh Penguins, and the team expressed sadness about the news on Twitter.
"We don't know who has passed and we don't expect to know right away", he said.
His death was confirmed by the Surrey Eagles, his former team in the British Columbia Hockey League.
"He was just a hardworking guy", said Jackson Ross.
"He always came with a smile on".
His brother, Isaac, posted to Facebook Monday, "All I can say is miracles do exist".
Canadians were moved to tears on Saturday as they learned of the identities of the deceased on the bus that was driving the Humboldt Broncos hockey team to a crucial playoff game Friday against the Nipawin Hawks.
The bus, which was carrying 28 total passengers, was from the Saskatchewan province of Canada. Twenty-nine people were on the bus.
The driver, who was the lone occupant of the tractor-trailer, was not injured in the collision, Zablocki said. He was initially detained but was later released, and he is not now the subject of a criminal investigation.
"Our investigators will be looking at all aspects of this accident to determine what took place", Zablocki said.
The Broncos were on their way to play in Game 5 of a semi-final against the Nipawin Hawks.
Head coach Darcy Haugan was also among the 14 killed.
Family members were comforting each other during this hard time, Schatz said. Families who provide homes for players are a large part of junior hockey in Canada.

After the recent success of the United States of America women's hockey team, some in our area are trying to encourage female participation in ice hockey.
Organizers say many successful women's hockey players have come from our area and the most important part is learning early.
The victims were remembered during a vigil at Humboldt's Hockey Arena.
By Sunday morning, a GoFundMe page for the players and their families had raised more than $3.2 million, the result of almost 50,000 donations.
The assistant coach was from Strasbourgh, Saskatchewan where he was named most valuable player previous year while playing with the Maroons in the Highway Hockey League. NHL teams like the Toronto Maple Leafs and the Pittsburgh Penguins gave money, as did hockey equipment manufacturer Bauer Hockey, which shared a link to the GoFundMe on its Twitter account. The crash happened at about 5 p.m. Friday. A memorial was placed at the site of the crash, about four kilometres east of Swift Current.
Relatives were involved in identifying the remains of the bus crash victims at a makeshift morgue, said Wilby.
Cam Talbot, a goalie for the Edmonton Oilers in the National Hockey League, tweeted: "After all the hours spent on a bus with the boys over the years this one really hits home". Player who was killed is Parker Tobin. "He is one of the most adventurous, ambitious, and loving people that I have ever been blessed to know".
