Gigi Buffon breaks silence on Michael Oliver comments

Gianluigi Buffon refuses to apologise to Michael Oliver for comments made about the English official following Juventus's meeting with Real Madrid in midweek.

"When [Buffon] talked about the referee, it was hard for me to understand him honestly", Del Piero told Sky Sport Italia.

Talking about the referee's decision, Buffon said, "A referee with more experience would not have blown his whistle and decided not to become the protagonist of the match".

A visibly angry Buffon also told Italian media that Oliver should "sit in the stands eating crisps" for "ruining a dream".

Trailing 3-0 from the first leg, Juventus managed to lead 3-0 in the second leg, and with minutes remaining at the Bernabau the tie seemed destined to head to extra time.

'I'm sure Oliver will have a great career in future, but he's too young to officiate a match like that.

"I think, in a few days, he'll say different things about the referee than what he said".

Meanwhile, Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes expressed his delight at his team's ability to keep their composure despite a frustrating 0-0 draw against 10-man Sevilla as they qualified for the semi-finals.Bayern progressed to the last four on Wednesday night for the seventh time in nine seasons, prevailing 2-1 on aggregate following their first-leg victory in Spain last week. I felt defrauded. Not defrauded of the result, but of the night. I'm not saying it wasn't a penalty, I am saying it was a dubious situation.

'And a dubious incident at the 93rd minute when we had a clear penalty denied [for a challenge on Juan Cuadrado] in the first leg, you can not award that at this point.

However, as Allegri spoke to the media during Juve's latest press conference, he was quick to give his support to Buffon, saying "I challenge anyone not to react in that situation". In a game like that, 20 seconds from the end, a dubious situation is not going to be enough for an experienced referee to transform everything.

"I won't accept that a referee is in charge of a game like this with two such high-profile teams and doesn't have the character, courage or ability to make calm decisions".

Speaking on Saturday, he said he had been defending "my team-mates and fans, even in a not very composed fashion". I had to let that out, even if it damaged my reputation'.
