Elon Musk's Boring Company raises $112.5 million for hyperloop

The firm has had success with retrieving the first stages of its Falcon rockets, refurbishing them and then sending them on new missions into space.

"This is gonna sound insane, but ..."

On several missions, twin boosters from a SpaceX rocket have been able to separate and land autonomously back on land.

SpaceX could soon use a "giant party balloon" and a bouncy house to retrieve the upper stage of a Falcon 9 rocket if billionaire Elon Musk has his way. Currently, she is the only main component of the rocket that an aerospace company in Hawthorne, California, tried to re-use in their attempts reusable spacecraft.

These include the use of fins, engine burns, and landing legs.

The company advertises (to potential customers) that it costs $62 million to launch a Falcon 9 rocket into space.

The launch will be broadcast on NASA website or on its live YouTube stream which you will find below.

SpaceX said it stood down to perform more analysis of the rocket's guidance, navigation and control system.

SpaceX CEO Elon Musk suggests a helium-filled balloon is great for creating a giant object that retains its shape at high Mach speeds and drops the vehicle's ballistic coefficient by two orders of magnitude.

"We're going to try a few approaches", Musk said. Recovery will require a new target closer to shore, within range of a catcher ship. Musk may be talking about a ballute, an inflatable parachute-like device that could look like a huge balloon.

Increasingly competitive pricing - along with a reliable Falcon 9 rocket - have made SpaceX an attractive rocket vendor to the likes of NASA, private companies, and other nations.

Ultimately, SpaceX will have around 200,000 square feet of space for working on BFR in the Port, though it won't be limiting itself to that space. Musk has called it a "catcher's mitt" in boat form.
