Israel says it is protecting its borders and takes such action only when protesters, some hurling stones and rolling burning tires, come too close to the border fence.
The Israeli army's use of live fire during the protests has drawn worldwide criticism and calls for an independent probe - which Israel has rejected.
Nevertheless, the Israeli State Prosecutor's Office claims that they distinguish between non-violent protesters demonstrating and protesters who are trying to break into Israel in order to attack soldiers and civilians.
During the events, two army drones crashed in the Gaza Strip.
Two-thirds of Gaza's two million Palestinians are refugees, and the protest has revived their long-standing demand for the right of return to their former family homes, which now lie in Israel.
In the first, according to the Israeli forces, two people were attempting to breach the border. Alternatives, such as accommodating refugees and their descendants in a future Palestinian state, have been discussed in peace talks that date back to 1993 but which are now stalled.
Aser was shot east of Gaza City on April 27, Health Ministry spokesman Ashraf Al Qudra said. "No one will deceive us and we will not fall into the illusion that the United States can have any balanced ideas that could lead to the achievement of a real and just peace".
The military has faced global criticism over its use of live fire, with the United Nations and European Union calling for an independent investigation rejected by Israel.
An added focus this year is President Donald Trump's decision to begin moving the USA embassy to Jerusalem on May 14, the 70th anniversary of Israel's founding.
Trump's moves angered Palestinian leaders, who have refused to talk to his administration, accusing it of pro-Israel bias.
The United Nations General Assembly on December 21 overwhelmingly voted in favor of a resolution that calls on the U.S. to withdraw its controversial recognition of Jerusalem al-Quds as the Israeli capital.
Palestinian Journalists Syndicate (PJS) recently said the closure of Elia is part of an escalating Israeli aggression against journalists and media organisations in the occupied city, and part of systematic targeting of the Palestinian voice aided by baseless accusations and justifications.
