'Super super serious': Elon Musk tweets about dipping into candy business

On Monday, Tesla began the process of what Chief Executive Elon Musk called scrubbing the "barnacles" off of the company with what was described as a new, brutal regime with regards to Tesla contractors.

The situation started to first come to light in an email from Musk to all employees that was leaked to Electrek a few weeks ago. It might take some years to build an actual flying suit but till then he can prance around as 21st century's Willy Wonka.

I surely have no doubts that Musk has the potential to disrupt the boring candy industry and introduce sweets that'd leave you salivating.

It was during that call when Musk said that Tesla's use of third-party contractors had "really gotten out of control", and that there was about to be "a lot of barnacle removal" going on at Tesla's facilities.

He went on to assure he's "super super serious" and polled followers on the candy they'd want.

Musk suggested the idea of a moat was outdated, suggesting that companies relying on one would soon find themselves out of business by "invading armies" of competitors and that consistent innovation is a far better tool for a company to employ.

Musk, who'd been kind of quiet on Twitter, revealed he plans to get into the candy game ... so any references he makes to Mars will likely need further clarification. "I don't think he'd want to take us on in candy", the Berkshire Hathaway (BRK.A) CEO said Saturday during the conglomerate's annual meeting in Omaha.

You may remember, for example, the time he announced he was selling Boring Company-branded flamethrowers in a tweet.

During the annual Berkshire Hathaway meeting Saturday, CEO Warren Buffett offered some advice to Tesla's Elon Musk: Stay away from See's sweets. And Elon may turn things upside down in some areas. It's hard to determine what his actual plans are, as Musk has proven to be quite unpredictable in the past. However, since it's an idea that's been appreciated by a lot of people, Musk can gain some more fans by making this candy company a reality.
