Packers Reportedly Not Interested in WR Dez Bryant

The Packers had some level of interest in Bryant when he was first release but they have signed drafted wide receiver J'Mon Moore in the fourth round, wide receiver Marquez Valdes-Scantling in the fifth round and wide receiver Equanimeous St.

Bryant isn't the man-handler of cornerbacks he used to be and he was never a speed receiver to begin with, but he's still a big, physical receiver who wins at the catch point and will run hard after the catch. Bryant was released by the Dallas Cowboys after eight seasons earlier this offseason. Even more are anxious that the Packers don't have enough weapons for Aaron Rodgers to use.

"Rodgers, he throws that back-shoulder throw so well and Dez has great chemistry with a good quarterback that can put the ball wherever he wants".

Bryant, himself, has already said he doesn't see himself in a Packers uniform, and Witten admitted that his prediction isn't based on any insight. "Because I still believe Dez can high-point the football as good as any other wide receiver in the National Football League". When he was released, many thought Bryant would find work quickly. Sometimes that can be a distraction.

The Packers would seemingly have little tolerance for that.

Witten made it clear that he does not have any inside information about where Bryant might end up, and he also mentioned the New Orleans Saints as another potential landing spot.

"I think Dez is certainly going to have some great opportunities", Witten said. You need somebody who can stretch the field and [be] that X-factor.

The 29-year-old missed time due to injury in both 2015 and 2016 before finishing 2017 with 69 catches for 838 yards and six touchdowns as the No. 1 option for quarterback DakPrescott in the passing game.

Bryant, who turns 30 on November 4, has not posted a 1,000-yard season since 2014.
