Arnold, a former writer on the original "Roseanne" suggested that Barr's support of President Donald Trump's conspiracy theories played a part in her downfall. Despite this week's cancellation of her show, Barr insisted on Twitter she's "not a racist".
Approached on the street in New Orleans, the 65-year-old star refused to answer questions about the show's recent cancellation or comment on Roseanne Barr's tweet comparing former Obama adviser Valerie Jarrett to an ape. This was not the first time Barr has used this racist comparison. Trump targeted Robert Iger on Twitter, saying: "Iger, where is my call of apology?"
This ouster sends a clear message that ABC will not tolerate racism and inflammatory speech on its network and Hollywood was quick to applaud the network's decision on social media.
Both Trump and Barr have been longtime supporters of each other.

I may not be an actor, but as a TV host and personality, I can sympathize with this sentiment.
But Barr fired back: 'I created the platform for that inclusivity and you know it. ME.
"I think reining Roseanne in could be a little hard". He told Cooper of a time that Trump criticized her directly after their divorce. "Even if TBS loses some advertisers, their contracts with the cable networks make it unlikely that they'll lose subscriber revenue". "I wasn't gonna get an Emmy anyway", he said when asked if he thought the Barr controversy would cost him the award.
