Pompeo meets Singaporean FM on trade, ASEAN, Trump-Kim meeting

The meeting will be held at the Capella Hotel, press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders tweeted.

We are talking about the construction of a railroad, let's say (and, by the way, China could join these projects as well), between Russian Federation and North and South Korea.

Yesterday morning, the President tweeted, "Meeting in Singapore with North Korea will hopefully be the start of something big...we will soon see!"

Rodman's possible involvement comes after The White House announced the much-anticipated summit between President Trump and Kim Jong-un will take place on Singapore's resort island of Sentosa.

Trump described a giant letter he received from Kim as "a very nice letter. a very interesting letter".

At the back are the national flowers of both countries - roses for the USA and magnolias for North Korea - and a dove with the words "world peace".

South Korean President Moon Jae-in has said Trump deserves a Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts to end the standoff. "And I've always asked [Kim] to talk to me because he wants the people of North Korea - and the government over there asked me to talk to Donald Trump about what they want and how we can solve things".

At Wednesday's event, the 74-year-old said the team was made up of "13 highly partisan Democrats".

"We're not paying for their expenses", she said, adding that the USA has not asked other countries to "pay for this".

The New York Post reports Rodman will arrive a day before the June 12 meeting and may even play a role in the negotiations.

Trump canceled the summit after North Korea's foreign minister criticized Vice President Mike Pence.

In November, at a time when North Korea still clung to its defiant pursuit of nuclear weapons and ballistic missiles, Singapore suspended trade ties with North Korea in line with toughened sanctions imposed by the U.N. Security Council.
