It's been a great run for LeBron James and the Cavaliers

These two get mentioned together because they are the definition of a long shot.

They had reached their destination: dynasty.

An overpowering Golden State Warriors squad captured a third NBA title in four seasons Friday, routing the Cleveland Cavaliers 108-85 to complete a sweep in the best-of-seven NBA Finals.

Love 'em or hate 'em, there is no denying them.

"No team has ever come back from 3-1 either, and we did it", Lue said, referring to the Cavs' comeback to stun the Warriors in the 2016 Finals.

A disappointed James is widely expected to leave the Cavaliers this summer, for the second time.

Overcoming obstacles all season long, the Warriors were not going to be denied and won the fourth straight Finals matchup against Cleveland easily. "Then the challenges that faced us. It's a great feeling to be back here".

The Golden State Warriors have made his eighth straight NBA Finals - and their seasonal rivalry with the Cavaliers - very one-sided. His right hand, which he says he injured after punching a blackboard as the result of a frustrating Game 1 loss, needed icing, too. Have we seen LeBron James' last game in a Cavs uniform?

The three-time champion revealed he had played the last three matches with a broken right hand, sustained after he scored his best play-off points haul of 51 in the opener. The Warriors are 8-18 ATS in their last 26 games following a win and 1-1 ATS in their last five games overall. Curry, who was awful in Game 3, answered with a classic Steph Curry performance in the clincher.

And they may stay that way.

Then the league's best team tightened the screws on Cleveland in the third quarter, outscoring the Cavs 25-13 and prompting Golden State fans to begin those drawn-out "War-eee-orrss" chants.

Warriors small forward Kevin Durant was named MVP for the second consecutive year after averaging 28.7 points per game in the series, 10.8 rebounds, and 7.5 assists, ESPN reports.

However, former National Basketball Association star Charles Barkley clearly dismissed the idea that the Cavs star could be compared to Chicago Bulls great Michael Jordan. He can either opt into his contract for next season or become an unrestricted free agent. The Philadelphia 76ers are considered one of the favorite destinations for him regardless of Embiid sending him tweets immediately after the Finals is over.

"So I will sit down and consider everything, but my family is a huge part of what I decide to do". Schwartz asked multiple players about Curry never winning the award, and got the most pointed response from Kevin Durant. On the night, the nine-time All-Star finished with 20 points on 7-for-17 shooting, leading both teams with 12 boards, 10 assists, a steal and three blocked shots. "That's the only thing that matters to us".

Curry, who had the awful Game 3 after a record-setting Game 2, when he nailed a Finals all-time best nine 3-pointers, left the Cavaliers crowd muttering when he ended the half with a long 3-pointer to stake the Warriors to a 61-52 lead.
