Antoine Griezmann intends to clear up his future before the World Cup begins, saying after France's draw with the United States on Saturday that he will reveal all this week.
"The World Cup for France starts on Saturday, there is still time".
The Atletico Madrid forward was expected to announce his summer switch to the Catalan outfit during a press conference on Tuesday. But I'm not going to speak about it today. I don't know if he's the priority.
After facing the USA on Saturday in Lyon, France are due to fly to their training base near Moscow on Sunday. "I've lived with this for three months and I am used to it, now I have to think about the World Cup". And Griezmann is one of them.
Barca are seeking a commitment from Griezmann before July 1 as his contract's buyout clause will jump from €100m to €200m on that date. The deal, should he sign, will make him the club's highest paid player; and the entire club has been endorsing the deal since it was offered - from the president right down to the kit man.
Of course, if he was staying at Atleti, why wouldn't he just come out and say it now if he's already made his decision?
Now it is Griezmann signing the autographs and carrying the hopes of a nation on his shoulders.
