In a new, frustrating report, it seems Stranger Things actor Millie Bobby Brown is the latest actor to be driven off social media thanks to online bullying from toxic fans.
According to Deadline, she had been plagued by the hashtag #TakeDownMillieBobbyBrown.
Other social media users expressed support for Brown, who remains active on Instagram. However, the last tweet shared by the account was on December 12, 2017.
One tweet, for instance, shows a Snapchat post by the actor with "just ran over a faggot cant wait to kill all these gays off" photoshopped over it. Brown is a supporter of LGBTQ rights and an anti-bullying advocate; she publicly displayed a GLAAD Together movement pin to the MTV Movie and TV awards a year ago. She also still has her Instagram account, but has deactivated the comments section.
When it comes to the internet, no celebrity is safe from being meme'd, not even 14-year-old Stranger Things star Millie Bobby Brown. Below are some examples of the meme, which include homophobic slurs. In a since deleted tweet, one of the people responsible for spreading the memes had this to say: "People getting mad over the Millie Bobby Brown homophobic meme makes me giggle".
The memes started with a few that said the child actress ran over gay people at Pride and was happy about it.
